At a dental assistant school, you will learn the administrative, chair side and laboratory skills that can make you valuable to any dental practice. Medical and dental assistant technicians will need to have gone to accredited schools and receive a diploma in order to be hired to become an assistant tech. Visit a school and talk to a professor to get an idea on how the school teaches their students what they need to know for the real world. If you want to start a new career by becoming a medical or dental assistant technician, look online or in a phone book to find a local college and set up an appointment with an advisor in order to start the process. The advisor can answer any question you have on the requirements needed to get your degree, the cost of books and tuition, and may even introduce you to some teachers you may have class with.
